The Literary Dick (as in Private Detective)
welcomes questions about literary mysteries and scandals, which should be sent to: woodyswoody@hotmail.com. The Literary Dick (as in Private Detective) will be published intermittently (at least for a while), by Jonathanames.com. Just so you know, Jonathan Ames, our mentor here at this website, has a new book out called, Wake Up, Sir! Apparently, its getting some excellent notices!

An Apology For The Lack of Recent Literary Dicks & A Notice on Further Installments

I’m sorry I haven’t been posting new Literary Dicks lately. There are a number of reasons this has happened. There are also a number of reasons why there won’t be a steady stream of postings for at least the next few weeks, if not months. Here are two:

A) I will be devoting more of my time to my study of Milton’s Paradise Lost.

B) I have a self-diagnosed case of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

About B): I really don’t know what’s wrong with me, but my arms and hands have been feeling exceedingly screwy. It hurts when I use them. My doctor took some blood and said my platelet count was low, though not dangerously so; the next step is to see the neurologist.

A note on two mysteries I never solved: a while back, somebody sent me an email about the mysterious circumstances surrounding Malcolm Lowry’s death; unfortunately my powers have been too weak to sort out the details of this decades-old (possible) murder. – A more recent query I have been unable to satisfy was about the origins of the term “San Francisco Poetry Renaissance”. While I haven’t gotten to the bottom of this (yet) I’m proud to say that during the course of this investigation, I received an email from Al Aronowitz, the most famous person who has ever emailed me.

Continue to write in with your questions and comments! In time, I will get back into doing regular postings. – If you are new to this site, please have a look at all our Archives. -- Michael Wood, The Literary Dick (As in Private Detective)
